Planned Furniture Promotions, Inc. Liquidates Sofa Express and More Inventory In Multi-million-dollar Sale

Enfield, CT - May 2008 – Roy Hester, National Vice President Of Sales for Planned Furniture Promotions Inc. (PFP), an affiliate of Gene Rosenberg Associates, LLC., announced today that the company has completed a multi-million-dollar liquidation sale of sixteen Sofa Express and More locations. In addition to managing the sixteen-week Sofa Express and More inventory liquidation process, PFP and its joint-venture partners were responsible for the disposition of furniture, fixtures and equipment as well as leasing rights for stores in Florida, Indiana, Kentucky, North Carolina and South Carolina.

The promotion was the result of a bankruptcy hearing held in December 2007 to determine the fate of Sofa Express’ $14.7 million inventory and leases for 42 locations. Planned Furniture Promotions along with Hilco Merchant Resources, Hilco Realty, SB Capital, Tiger Capital, Kimco Realty Services were the winning bidders that secured liquidation rights in the deal.

Sofa Express filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection Dec. 6 in the Middle District of Tennessee.
